GENERAL POLICIES

• The necessary application must be completed in its entirety, a minimum of two weeks prior to the requested deadline for donation item and a minimum of four weeks for a student-athlete or coach appearance.

• Completion of the request form in a timely manner, and approval form the Compliance Office, does not guarantee that Texas Tech Athletics can fulfill the request

• Texas Tech Athletics items will not be donated to other colleges or universities

• The requested item may not be used in fundraising events for any high school organization, high school fund raising event that will benefit a charity or educational project or any high school or prospect-aged individual (High school is defined as grades nine through twelve).

• All profit from the promotions activity or project must go directly to the requesting charity, non-profit agency or educational institution.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. Can an autographed item be used as an auction or raffle item for a fundraiser?

Yes, if approved and provided by the Texas Tech Athletics department.

2. Does Texas Tech Athletics make autographed items available to individuals?

The Texas Tech Athletics department provides autographed items to charitable, educational, and some institutional entities.

3. Will Texas Tech Athletics donate an autographed item to an entity outside of the state of Texas?

No. Due to the volume of requests, Texas Tech Athletics is able to donate items only to charitable entities within the state of Texas.

4. Will Texas Tech Athletics consider a donation for the benefit of a religious organizations?

Yes.

5. Will Texas Tech Athletics consider a donation to a for-profit corporation entity?

No, this rule is strictly enforced by the NCAA. TTU athletics is also prohibited from providing any item to a charitable organization/event that is sponsored or co-sponsored by a commercial entity

6. I received an item for a charitable organization previously. Can I submit another request?

At this time, TTU athletics can accept one request per organization per academic year. Receipt of an item in no way guarantees subsequent donations.

7. Will TTU student-athletes make personal appearances?

All appearance requests must be submitted to the J.T. & Margaret Talkington Leadership Academy staff and be approved by the TTU athletics department. Even if the request is approved, there is no guarantee that the student-athlete and/or coach will be willing able to fulfill the request. Appearances are limited to within a 30-mile radius of the Texas Tech University campus in Lubbock, Texas.

8. Is TTU athletics able to accept personal items to be autographed by coaching staff member and/or student-athlete?

Due to the volume of requests, TTU cannot accept personal items to be autographed.

9. Will TTU athletics mail the requested items to the organization?

Yes. However, due to the volume of requests, Texas Tech Athletics focuses on donating items to charitable entities within the state of Texas. We additionally will consider requests from the neighboring four states of AR, LA, NM, & OK.


The Athletic Department will not support

Organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, gender or national origin.


Individuals (Donations are only provided to non-profit organization not individuals).


Organizations or programs designed to influence legislation or elect candidates to public office.


Organizations not registered as a charity or 'not-for-profit' entity.


Organizations that do not adhere to NCAA rules and regulations.
